Plants are the only living things that make their own food!☀️sunlight💧water (roots)CO₂ (air)🌬️glucose + O₂🍬6CO₂ + 6H₂O + light → C₆H₁₂O₆ + 6O₂

Every meal you eat — every grain of rice, every vegetable, every piece of fruit — started with a plant turning sunlight into food. Photosynthesis is arguably the most important chemical reaction on Earth. Plants take in carbon dioxide from the air and water from the soil, and using the energy of sunlight, they build glucose — a sugar that powers the entire food chain. As a byproduct, they release the oxygen we breathe.
