In nature, every living thing needs food to survive. Plants make their own food from sunlight. Animals eat plants or other animals to get energy. This sequence of who eats whom is called a food chain. For example: grass is eaten by a rabbit, the rabbit is eaten by a fox, and the fox is eaten by an eagle. Every food chain starts with a plant!
